A Gala Fundraising Evening with Katherine Jenkins
Starts: 19:30 23 November 2008
Ends: 23 November 2008
Buxton Opera House, Buxton, SK17 6XN
In aid of the Buxton Opera House Children’s Theatre Appeal
Katherine Jenkins is quite simply Britain’s favourite singer. She is an opera and showbusiness phenomenon … a former Choirgirl of the Year, then primary school teacher, who burst onto the music scene like a meteor in 2004, with her pop star glamour, girl-next-door personality and, of course, stunningly beautiful mezzo soprano voice. In four short years, she has become a superstar, and one of the most sought-after and popular figures in entertainment today, selling albums by the million and filling concert halls and arenas at the drop of a hat. Katherine now appears in Buxton, with the 32-piece National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Inglis, in a programme of songs, operatic arias and hits from her five best-selling albums, in support of our new theatre in the Pavilion Gardens to house performances and participatory work for, and by, children and young people.
